John erickson
Hi, my name is John Erickson. I am a 40/30/30 Nutritionist
by trade with over 10 years of hands-on experience (since
1999) specializing in diet food preparation and portion
control. A 40/30/30 diet is a balanced approach that strives
for the caloric ratio of 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30%
fat. The 40/30/30 nutritional philosophy was derived from
the field of endocrinology, an area of knowledge that studies
the way protein, carbohydrates, and fats, influence your
metabolism. Basically, it’s the idea food is more
than just calories.

My
personal journey began when I started following the same
dietary principles outlined in this book. For the first
time, I was controlling my emotions instead of having them
control me. My stomach tightened up and I realized my state
of mind mirrored the quality of the previous meal. The cobwebs
were cleared from my brain and I was now able to focus on
one thing at a time. I became more patient, slow drivers
no longer bothered me, and I felt a deeper connection with
the present moment. It was like I achieved enlightenment
without having to meditate in the mountains.
Overall, I lost 30 pounds, and nothing can replace the way
I feel moment by moment. I wondered why everybody didn’t
eat this way, and most importantly, why did it take me 24
years to learn how to eat properly? I always thought healthy
eating should become a standard part of our upbringing,
not dominated by commercials cunningly designed to introduce
toddlers to the processed foods of America.
I blame America’s health care crisis and the obesity
epidemic on the billion dollar diet industry itself. Government
bureaucracies apply outdated nutritional theory, and corporate
diets give people microwavable food in a cardboard box and
teach them nothing about proper nutrition. As a result,
society has become totally confused about food.
99% of all American’s eat aimlessly by paying zero
attention to the amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fat,
they consume at each meal. This causes blood sugar inconsistencies,
hormonal imbalances, hunger, mood swings, weight gain, and
damages your metabolism.
To
further my education, I enrolled in a college to become
a dietician and I got a job supervising the dietetic department
at a local hospital. I quickly realized the same divide
between democrats and republicans exists in the diet industry
as well. On the third day of Nutrition 101, the professor
referred to my 40/30/30 affiliation as “just another
fad diet.” I felt as if someone was mocking my religious
beliefs. To make things worse, students were expected to
worship the almighty Food Guide Pyramid as a act of faith.
Luckily,
my expertise in 40/30/30 nutrition, and experience serving
large scale hospital food, was sought by the popular Zone
Diet, and I was hired to head their kitchen operations.
I parted ways with the hospital environment because this
was my chance to serve diet food I was passionate about.
The Zone Diet was the first company to freshly prepare 40/30/30
diet meals, place them inside a cooler bag packed with ice,
and then deliver them to the customer’s doorstep every
morning.My experience in the diet industry yielded as much
benefit one can get from a prestigious college degree mainly
because my schooling was so diverse, similar to a martial
artist who obtains a Black Belt in a few different styles
of fighting. I’ve been fully trained in the Food Guide
Pyramid (60% carbohydrates), I’m am one of the most
qualified experts in 40/30/30 nutrition (40% carbohydrates),
and I was also appointed to develop the kitchen operations
for the Atkins Diet Delivery Service (which has virtually
no carbohydrates!).
I took the best strengths from all the top diets, disregarded
their weaknesses, and formulated the most powerful diet
on the planet called Core Diets™. I created Core Diets™,
and the Red, White and Blue Food Combining Charts® as
a way to free you from the confines of the diet industry.
My goal is to turn you into your own nutritionist so you
never need another “diet”. My out-of-the-box
approach promotes self-sufficiency and gives you a shot
at controlling your own outcome in life. -
